Hi, I'm Cassandra

I’m Cassandra! My story is long, but to make it short - I grew up in Santa Fe and I got married to my husband when I was 17.

My husband and I have four kids and two dogs (yup, it’s a full house). My one and only baby girl Leia (like Princess Leia) is 7, Lincoln is 5 and Levi and Logan are 3. Mmmhhmm. Twins. It gets wild. In 2018 the twins were born premature and Levi developed a life threatening condition in the hospital called Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). NEC takes the lives of up to 50% if infants who suffer the disease but God healed him and 89 days after he was born he came home. About 6 months after the twins came home from the hospital I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. I had a total thyroidectomy in 2019 and followed up with radiation treatment. Almost exactly one year post my diagnosis my son Lincoln was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and that brings us to today.

 

My life sounds made up. I’ve learned, I’ve grown and I’m committed to building community and raising awareness for these important issues while sharing all of life’s in-between’s.
